Dr Sarah McLay
I am Dr Sarah McLay, founder of the Clermont Country Practice located in Clermont, Isaac region Queensland.
Clermont Country Practice commenced operating 2 September 2019 thanks to the generosity and support from Blair Athol.
38 Jellicoe Street, Clermont Qld 4721 is our interim business address, while our new practice is being constructed.
Dr Penny Byford
Penny studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh and worked for 2 years in the UK before emigrating to Brisbane in 2012.
She enjoys delivering holistic care across all areas of family medicine, appreciating the unique opportunity GPs have to provide continuity of care to patients and their families throughout their life. She is particularly passionate about women and children’s health, having done further focused training in Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology, gaining both practical experience and post-graduate qualifications in these specialties.
She manages all aspects of women’s health including contraception, cervical screening, management of menstrual problems and menopause, sexual health, fertility issues and pre-conception, pregnancy and postnatal care. She has a special interest in optimising children’s health and wellbeing from birth through to adolescence including routine medical care, newborn care and feeding, growth and development and childhood immunisations.
In addition to these areas, she enjoys preventative health, chronic disease management and coordinating complex care needs of patients of all ages. She is currently working part-time, balancing work with assisting in training GP registrars and spending time with her young family.
Dr Bonnie McRae
Dr Bonnie has a special interest in rural medicine having grown up in rural NSW. Dr Bonnie has training in contraceptive advice and application, and has developed various procedural skills. She has recently commenced cosmetic medicine training.

NP Taryn Dukes
Taryn is a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner and Credentialed Diabetes Educator. She specialises in Chronic Disease Management, Health Education and Health promotion. Taryn is committed and passionate about empowering individuals in making positive changes and reaching optimal health outcomes.
Taryn has many years experience working in rural and remote settings and for the past 12 years and has spent the majority of her time in remote Indigenous communities in the Top End of Australia. Taryn is also qualified in Women’s Health screening and Childhood immunisations and check ups.
